What is PL8.email?

PL8.email is an online application that works as an email service which allows you to send and/or receive email messages via your license plates! In fact, Pl8.email is an online database which connects vehicle’s license plate with the vehicle’s owner email address.

By using this database, Pl8.email allows registered vehicles to receive written messages on the owner’s email account.On PL8.email, user’s email address is not public (to maintain user’s anonymity) and in order to send a message all you need is to know the license plate number. However, one can inform others that the vehicle’s owner is using this application, just by sticking a PL8.email sticker on the vehicle!

We could say the PL8.email is the first social network for vehicles: passenger cars, trucks, motorcycles and any other vehicle on the streets!

PL8.email’s everyday use includes informing owners about: damages to the vehicle, wrong parking, bad or dangerous driving, closed roads due to traffic and stolen vehicles etc.

Cost

Sending messages via PL8.email is free. Registering one vehicle per one account is free. Adding a second or more vehicles on one account has a small charge: 2€/for 2 years for each vehicle you add. You can pay with PAYPAL. (Few months before the expiration date of your 2 year subscriptions, we will send you a notification message in case you wish to renew for two more years.)

Safety and privacy issues

Do not use PL8.email application while driving. In case of an accident caused by trying to write and drive, PL8.email takes no responsibility. PL8.email and its services were created to improve all driving and vehicle’s road behaviors, so it’s extremely dangerous to use PL8.email while driving and could lead to injuries and fatal accidents. Those who choose to use PL8.email agree that they will not use it while they drive a vehicle.

PL8.email does not provide any kind of information regarding registered vehicles and their owners, not even if they are registered or not. Sole indication that a vehicle owner uses PL8.email is a PL8.email sticker on the vehicle.

PL8.email maintains a database with vehicle plate’s number and their owners email addresses. No other personal information is collected. PL8.email keeps for 3 months the messages sent to non registered license plates. In this time frame if the plate is registered, it will receive the message.

By registering and using PL8.email you should know that you could receive all types of written messages, including those that have offensive or spiteful content. PL8.email is not responsible for any type of message and the message content you receive or send. In case you receive an offensive or malicious or spiteful message or any other message that you find wrong, we advise you to delete your account. If a legal issue applies for such a message, you should refer to the law authorities of your country. PL8.email provides access to its database only if requested by the Greek law authorities.
